Q: How many guests does the courtyard accommodate?
A: The Villa courtyard can hold up to 200 guests for reception dinners and up to 300 for mixer style events
Q: Can a wedding ceremony be held in the courtyard as well as the reception?
A: Yes. However, seating for a ceremony in the courtyard
is limited to 150.
Keep in mind that having the ceremony here requires us to rearrange the table
and chair configuration after the service.
Having appetizer and beverage service on the terrace for your guests is helpful
when resetting the courtyard for the reception.
Café Hidalgo charges a $350 set up fee for ceremonies.
Q: Will there be ample parking for our guests?
A: The Villa del Sol has complimentary valet service
available Tuesday thru Saturday from 4pm to 11pm.
Guests are welcome to use this service as a convenience with regards to parking.
Q: What time does the villa’s courtyard close?
A: 12:00 midnight.
Q: Are there any restrictions regarding music, dancing or dj’s?
A: Dj’s and dancing is permitted. Music must be kept at a reasonable level as not to disturb any other business open during your event.
Q: Is there a fee to reserve the courtyard?
A: The Villa del Sol management charges for exclusive use of the courtyard. Please call Dunlap Properties at 714-879-0111 for current rates.
Q: Is there a minimum amount or guest count for private parties?
A: There is no minimum for events held Monday, Tuesday or
Wednesday. Thursday there is a $500 minimum.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is a $1000 minimum. Minimum amounts do not
include tax, service or bar.
Q: Are the restaurant’s restrooms available to private event guests?
A: Yes. There are also restrooms just inside The Stadium
Tavern and on the second floor, northwest corner of the villa.
Q: Does Cafe Hidalgo charge a cake cutting fee?
A: No.
Q: Are there any lighting or decorating restrictions?
A: Open flames are permitted only on the tables and must
conform to City of Fullerton Open Flame guidelines.
The courtyard has Malibu style lighting, wall sconces and general area
lighting. The addition of any other lighting must be approved
in writing by the Villa del Sol management office located on the 3rd
floor of the building. Balloons, streamers, table settings, flowers,
centerpieces, arches etc. are acceptable. Small confetti style favors are not
permitted.
Q: Does Café Hidalgo request a deposit?
A: Once your menu has been determined and our estimate
approved by you, a 10% deposit is required to confirm your event.
Changes may be made up to 7 days prior to the event and your deposit is fully
refundable up to this point.
Q: Are heaters allowed in the courtyard and does Cafe Hidalgo provide
them?
A: Heaters are permitted in the courtyard area as long as they comply with
City of Fullerton Open Flame Guidelines.
Heaters may be rented through Cafe Hidalgo for $90 each (propane included)
Q: Does Cafe Hidalgo charge extra for servers and bartenders?
A: No. The service/gratuity charge (18%) covers all
servers and bartenders for your event. We provide ample staff for your event,
but if you would like service beyond this, the charge is $150 for each
bartender/server.
Q: Does Café Hidalgo supply “wedding coordinating” services?
A: We don’t provide services that a hired wedding coordinator would provide. We do help in the planning all the foodQ: How do we reserve the

A: All booking for the courtyard is done through Dunlap Real Estate, the
property management company for the building at 714-879-0111.
